This was one of the first poems I wrote after my mother passed away. It was published in The Best Poets and Poems of 2002 produced by the International Library of Poetry. I learned later that although this outfit is legitimate, they will only publish your work if you agree to purchase the anthology. Anyway, I hope mothers who are reading this enjoy a great day this Sunday.
A DAUGHTER’S PLEA
I need you to share my joys,
console me in my times of sorrow,
listen and offer support and advice.
It’s not fair that you’ve left me so soon.
Please come back.
